Reservation and payment policy:
Please contact us if you are interested in making a reservation. We do not require a deposit. Purchasers will be prioritized by date of contact. When kids arrive, you will have 1 week to decide if you want to make the purchase. To make your intent official we require a nonrefundable $100 deposit to hold the kid, or adult animal, (which will be applied to the goat’s purchase price). Kids can be picked up at two weeks of age for people who have prior experience with goats, and bottle raising. All kids must be picked up by 12 weeks of age. Purchased adult animals must be picked up within 30 days. After this time, boarding rates of $15/week will apply.
Shirefarm reserves the right to retain any goat, kid or adult, at any time. Nonrefundable deposits will be returned in this instance, or in the case of something happening to the goat while in our care. In this situation only, reservations can be transferred to another animal for sale or breeding.
Full payment is due upon pick-up of the animal.
If an animal is being shipped across state lines, the buyer will be responsible for all vet fees and health certificates.
All animals leaving our property are healthy and well maintained. Due to circumstances out of our control, once an animal leaves our farm, we make no health guarantee. For bio-security reasons we can not take back any animals that have left our property. All sales are final.
There are no guarantees on quality of animals, or what they can achieve as mature livestock. Any known flaws will be disclosed to the best of our ability. We will not sell goats with disqualifying faults as registered breeding stock, but as pets without registration papers only. We are selling genetic potential and will try to work with you to provide genetics that will work well within your herd.
Our goal here at Shirefarm is to continue improving the health, resilience, and confirmation of our animals. In our goats we are aiming for nice easily milk-able teats with wide orifices, butter soft texture, and good attachments. We want to see good milk production, capacity, and a well conformed show quality animal. Color is a fun bonus, but never our intent when pairing animals.
